Transportation Learning Network
A Partnership of DOTs and Universities

About Us

The Transportation Learning Network (TLN), formerly Tel8, is one of the main programs of the Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute (UGPTI) at North Dakota State University. TLN is governed by a board of directors representing each of the participating state DOTs and Mountain-Plains Consortium (MPC) universities.

The system was developed to serve the transportation interests of the region. Each site consists of in-room audio and video equipment which receives and transmits live sound and picture. Each site is capable of participating in individual point-to-point or system-wide videoconferencing. TLN also operates its own videoconferencing bridge providing world-wide system connectivity.

The system enhances communication among people who have a common interest in the region's transportation capability. It allows and encourages a synergism to develop among the transportation practitioners and professionals in the region never before realized in the United States.

Mission

To support quality transportation through a network of people and technology that serves Transportation Learning Network members by enhancing communication, education, professional development, technology transfer, and research.

Vision

We envision the Transportation Learning Network as a national leader in providing access and programming for high quality expertise sharing among transportation professionals.
