About Us

The Transportation Learning Network (TLN) is one of the main programs of the Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute (UGPTI) at North Dakota State University. TLN is governed by a committee representing each of the participating state DOTs and Mountain-Plains Consortium (MPC) universities.

The system was developed to serve the transportation interests of the region. Each site consists of in-room audio and video equipment which receives and transmits live sound and picture. Each site is capable of participating in individual point-to-point or system-wide videoconferencing. TLN also operates its own videoconferencing bridge providing world-wide system connectivity.

The system enhances communication among people who have a common interest in the region's transportation capability. It allows and encourages a synergism to develop among the transportation practitioners and professionals in the region never before realized in the United States.

To support quality transportation through a network of people and technology that serves Transportation Learning Network members by enhancing communication, education, professional development, technology transfer, and research.

We envision the Transportation Learning Network as a national leader in providing access and programming for high quality expertise sharing among transportation professionals.
