Video Conference (designated rooms at DOT sites)

Description

This is a 2-part presentation that combines information from material subject experts in the fields of erosion control geotextiles and concrete matting. In the first learning segment a wide array of geotextile materials ranging from erosion control blankets to anchored reinforced vegetative systems will be covered. Product samples will be available at all TLN sites to help participants understand the material properties and to help them walk through a certification data sheet. In the second learning segment a wide array of concrete blocks and mats will be reviewed, ranging from 10#/sf - 90#/sf applications. Best practices and application targets will help participants understand how to design, install, and maintain a wide range of materials for temporary to permanent project needs. Erosion control product review will include:

Geotextile

  • Anchored reinforced vegetative systems
  • Turf reinforcement mats
  • Erosion control blanket

Concrete

  • Lightweight rolled mats
  • Block systems
  • Heavy weight mat systems
