This presentation will cover examples of structural projects constructed in an accelerated fashion using precast or pre-shaped bridge elements. Common themes will be the use of precast arches and footings for speeding up construction of structures. Concepts of stabilized soils to eliminate deep pile foundations will also be presented. Additionally, rapid deployment of prefabricated scour countermeasures will be presented.


Tim Miller, Contech Engineering Solutions, is a 2006 graduate of the Colorado School of Mines. He has worked as a bridge consultant with Contech since 2011. Prior to 2011, Tim was a project engineer for M.A. Mortenson Company.
