Peter T. Martin, PhD, PE, earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1975 and a Master of Science in Transportation Engineering in 1987 from the University of Wales, and his Doctorate in Real-Time Transportation Modeling from the University of Nottingham, England in 1992. From 1975 to 1984, he practiced as a Civil Engineer in highway planning, design and construction. He has authored over 250 academic and professional papers; invited to lecture on Intelligent Transportation Systems in Europe, Asia and North America; and advised traffic engineers in India, China and the U.S. on the installation of advanced traffic signal systems. He was a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Utah until 2012.
