Description

This presentation will discuss the updates to the rules and programs with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). The presentation will discuss the Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse which goes into effect on January 6, 2020. We will have speakers from the CDL Division, Office of Enforcement and Compliance Division of the FMSCA. There will also be discussion on current CDL holders need to be doing to maintain their license.

Nikki McDavid, Chief of the Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Division, U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, is responsible for improving highway safety by ensuring that drivers of large trucks and buses are qualified to operate those vehicles and by removing unsafe and unqualified drivers from the highways. Her office does this by developing, administering, and implementing policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines for the National CDL Program. Nikki was awarded her Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Management from the University of Maryland.

The audience for this presentation will be those who hold or are seeking to obtain a CDL, personnel responsible for the issuance and administration of the CDL, State and Federal commercial vehicle enforcement agencies, university researchers with an interest in commercial vehicle safety and CDL compliance.
