ATSSA Traffic Control Technician

  • Feb 10, 2015 (9:00 - 5:00 pm CT; 8:00 - 4:00 pm MT)
Video Conference (designated rooms at DOT sites)

Description

All those involved in work zone projects should have a basic knowledge of temporary traffic control that allows them to assist in installing traffic control devices, monitoring their performance, recognizing deficiencies during the course of a project, and conducting themselves and others safely in a work zone.

The one-day TCT course provides an introduction to temporary traffic control in work zones for individuals who work in the field installing/removing traffic control devices and working within a work zone. It teaches concepts, techniques and practices in the installation, maintenance of traffic control devices, and recognizing hazards. The students are provided an ATSSA Guide which is used as the basic text material for the course. This handy Guide booklet contains material condensed from the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) but in a simplified, easy to understand and use format.

The TCT course is a pre-requisite for the ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor course. There will be an ATSSA proctored exam at the end of this course. The exam is needed in order to attend the TCS course from ATSSA. Attendees will receive a certificate of completion after successfully completing the course and passing the exam.

Speaker(s)
