RegisterDescription
This session is closed to the public and is designed for local, state, and federal enforcement and other state agencies responsible for commercial motor vehicle (CMV) inspections, licensing, and enforcement.
This session will provide a practical overview of how to detect potential manipulation of Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs). The presenter will guide attendees through the process of cross-referencing ELD data with supporting documentation - such as fuel receipts, toll records, and GPS logs - to identify discrepancies in times, dates, and locations. In addition to data comparison strategies, the session will highlight common red flags and behavioral indicators that may suggest tampering or falsification. Real-world examples will be shared to illustrate investigative techniques and enforcement best practices.
Speaker(s)
Abe Dunivin is the Technical Services Coordinator for Safety Services and Federal Programs in the Commerce and Compliance Division of the Oregon Department of Transportation.
Target Audience
Federal, State, and Local CMV Inspection, Licensing, and Enforcement Agencies are encouraged to attend.
