The technologies for the construction industry of infrastructures have been fast evolving. This talk will round up all the latest-&-greatest relevant technologies and provide a systematic introduction to automation and autonomy for construction. This presentation will give a big picture and overview of the concepts, motivation and benefits, application in the infrastructure, industry/agency adoption, and what the future development may look like.

Dr. George K. Chang, P.E. is the Director of Research with The Transtec Group. Dr. George Chang is an expert on pavement smoothness, intelligent compaction, and construction technologies. Dr. Chang has founded the International Society for Intelligent Construction (ISIC). His research, teaching, specification development, and software tools (such as ProVAL and Veta) have helped make significant technological advancements in the above fields. Dr. Chang has been the principal investigator for numerous projects that enhance pavement materials/structures, pavement surface characteristics, etc. Recognized for his energetic, lively teaching style, Dr. Chang delivers smoothness and intelligent compaction/construction-related workshops worldwide.
