Why Attend

ATSSA's Work Zone Strategies Training Course (updated in late 2025) includes a broad range of techniques to improve work zone safety and mobility. It provides information on techniques for analyzing work zone impacts, developing plans and strategies to combat potential impacts, and application of the latest technology to improve operations. The course highlights a broad range of projects, from short duration and short-term to long-term work zones. It also provides owner-agency policy and practice examples that represent current trends in how to reduce work zone injuries and fatalities.

Course Outline:

  • Introduction to Work Zone Strategies
  • Work Zone Impacts Assessment
  • Transportation Management Plans
  • Positive Protection Decision-Making
  • Project Examples and Field Environments
  • Technology Applications for Work Zones

Originally designed as a two-day course, the delivery will include one full day of instruction through streamlined exercise discussions. This presentation will NOT be recorded, there will be NO exam, and NO ATSSA certification provided. Upon completion of this presentation, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from TLN. This certificate of completion will be in the participants record on the TLN Learning Management System (LMS). Participants may log in to the LMS and retrieve their certificate to download or print.
