Description
This presentation is intended to increase overall knowledge and awareness of the fundamental concepts of fluid power technology. This presentation will discuss rules about fluid pressure and flow. Generic structure of a hydraulic system in addition to the construction and principles of operation of the main components, e.g. pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and rotary actuators will be presented. The presentation will conclude with how to grab all these components in form of a system that works safely and efficiently. This presentation will serve mostly as a refresher for the mechanics who work on these systems, but will serve as a great training piece for operators and those who write specifications for equipment.
Speaker(s)
Medhat Khalil, Ph.D. Having worked as Director of Professional Education and Research Development at Applied Technology Center, Milwaukee School of Engineering, Milwaukee, WI, Medhat has vast experience in the field of mechanical engineering and more specifically hydraulics, having developed and taught fluid power system training courses for industry professionals, being fairly familiar with the technological developments in the field of fluid power and motion control and the production program of the leading fluid power companies. In addition, he has designed several hydraulic systems based on ISO-Standard and developed several analytical and educational software.
Target Audience
This presentation is for maintenance operators, mechanics, and equipment specification writers.
